The XLA 170 is an automatic XY cutter, based on a barcode reading system the cutter recognizes different print sizes and automatically adjust the position of all vertical blades. It features X/Y axis correction and it works both with rolls and sheet

The new XLA 170 from Fotoba sets a new standard in wide format digital print finishing, featuring fully automatic vertical blades positioning. This advanced system allows for cutting variable sizes without human intervention, dramatically increasing productivity, improving precision, and eliminating human errors typically caused by manual blade adjustments.

Thanks to full automation, the XLA 170 significantly reduces setup time and lowers production costs, while ensuring consistent, high-quality results. Designed for maximum operational efficiency, the system requires limited operator skills, making it ideal even for teams with minimal technical training.

Wallpaper applications:

• High precision cutting (X axis: +- 0.5 mm/Y axis: +- 0.1 mm);
• No media waste for setup and operations;
• The XLA automatically compensates for rolls not perfectly wound (telescoping);
• Each blades rotation is certified and tested by Fotoba to perfection;
• Switching from wallpaper to sample production takes place automatically, with no manual intervention required.

XLA 170 compared to Flatbed Cutters (X/Y Cutting of flexible media):

• Low energy consumption: the XLA 170 absorbs 350 W/hr only, while a flatbed cutter absorbs 10.000 to  15.000 W/hr;
• Productivity: the XLA 170 is approximately up to 7 times faster than a flatbed cutter (any brand) for straight line cutting;
• Low maintenance: the XLA 170 has no consumables;
• User friendly: new operators can be trained in a short time;
• Small foot print: saves a lot of floor space compared to flatbed cutters used for straight line cutting;
• Reading cutting files: no need to read cut-files, saves time by on-time optical reading of the barcode.
